Sopore, 26 June: The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was observed on Wednesday with zeal and enthusiasm at SDH Sopore by the NGO “RAAHAT” in collaboration with sub district hospital sopore to highlight the ill effects of drug abuse and to spread the message about the extreme cultural and economic harm of illicit drug use.
Hundreds of participants took part in the programme, which included students, Members of civil society, sopore,Members of Economic Alliance sopore, BMO sopore Dr.Samiullah, President of Doctors association kashmir Dr. Suhail Naik,members of press Club of sopore, Officials from police and other staff of SDH sopore.
On the occasion various Speakers made an earnest appeal to the public at large to strictly keep a close watch on their wards, especially school-going children, in order to keep them away from the evils of drugs.
An awareness program/Rally was also organised at Government higher secondary School Dangarpora sopore, which was attended by students staff and local people from the area.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion were ZEO dangarpora, BDO dangarpora, members of Panchayat halqa dangarpora and Tehsildar dangarpora
On the occasion ADC sopore was chief guest and he flagged off the awareness rally of students passing through various markets at dangarpora Zaingeer areas.
